I love this cookbook even more than Rebecca’s last book (One Bite at A Time). I like the personal, fun writing style that draws you in and makes the recipes come alive. Besides learning so much more about cooking for cancer patients, this cookbook is fantastic for anyone who wants to eat healthy and gourmet at the same time. I cook a lot of gluten-free and dairy-free food so I am super excited to see that almost all the recipes are gluten-free/dairy-free or provide for options to allow me to cook that way.

The Cancer-Fighting Kitchen is a culinary gem! It goes beyond the typical cookbook to explain the benefits of ingredients. The culinary pharmacy is a wonderful tool to have, not only for someone who is undergoing cancer treatment, but in every kitchen! The recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in cooking healthy, wholesome foods for themselves and their families.

  3. I have been using the Keith Block Life Over Cancer book as a bible to help with complementary treatment for my dad who has been diagnosed with cancer. On a very common and uneducated level about this disease, I have done everything I can to learn about cancer and through all that I have read, I have learned that nutrition and diet is a major factor attributing to the spread of this disease. There are many cookbooks out there that claim they have cancer fighting recipes and they may very well contain recipes that will help prevent cancer, so I don’t disregard them. But, this is the very first book that I have found that every recipe contained in it will help seriously combat the disease while you are dealing with it. IT IS TRULY A BOOK FOR CANCER PATIENTS, not just a book for those who are looking to prevent cancer. This book is full of information and contains recipes that truly make your body a hostile environment for cancer cells to survive. It is such a relief to finally find a book such as The Cancer Fighting Kitchen to help with authentic recipes that arm the patient or careperson with more knowledge and information to help combat this disease.

  4. This is TRULY the book I’ve been waiting years for!! I am an Integrative Oncology Nurse who’s passion is to empower people being treated for cancer to take charge of their health and “The Cancer-Fighting Kitchen” cookbook is a GREAT tool in this regards. It is so thorough, filled with concrete helpful tidbits to help ease many of the side effects of chemotherapy in natural ways – which I find more and more people are searching for….. all “wrapped” in a package of beautiful, mouthwatering pictures. The presentation is easy to understand, categorized so nicely and filled with humor, heartwarming introductions that make you feel as if she’s right there with you as you cook your way to health and give your body the support it needs. Rebecca Katz has given us (as health care practioner’s) a real “gift” to suggest to our patients and their family members or caregivers, so they can know there is alot they CAN do to heal themselves on the journey from “illness to wellness”.

The Cancer Fighting Kitchen is empowering to anyone who wants to get some control over this horrible disease and resulting treatment- whether they have been diagnosed with caner or not. Rebecca’s book provides a wealth of information that everyone can put to use in their daily lives to help in the fight against cancer— who knew that something as easy as a pinch of cinnamon could make a difference. Rebecca’s anecdotes are food to the soul. The recipes are not overwhelming and breathe life and taste into simple foods that are healthful. I even got my kids to eat green beans and enjoy them for the first time and it only took a shallot, basil and some lemon!
